BUILDING A WORLD-CLASS COMMUNITY

A WORLD-CLASS CITY WITH
A HOMETOWN SOUL
Paul Leon: Building Ontario's Future
Investing in Our Community. Creating Opportunities. Preserving What Makes Ontario Special.
Ontario has experienced significant growth and investment during Mayor Paul Leon's time in office. From the return of Ontario International Airport to local control to new sports facilities, entertainment destinations, and improvements to historic downtown, the city continues to evolve.
Paul believes Ontario's growth should create opportunities for residents, strengthen the local economy, and preserve the neighborhoods and traditions that make the city special.
Ontario International Airport: A Gateway to Opportunity
One of the defining accomplishments of Paul's time as mayor was his involvement in the effort to return Ontario International Airport to local control.
Today, the airport continues to expand its role as a major transportation and economic center for the Inland Empire.
The ONT BOLD initiative outlines plans for terminal improvements, expanded passenger facilities, and transportation upgrades designed to accommodate future growth.
Paul continues to support the airport's development as an important source of regional connectivity, economic activity, and opportunity.
Ontario Sports Empire and ONT Field
Ontario is investing in new recreational facilities and sports destinations that will serve residents and attract visitors from throughout the region.
The Ontario Sports Empire is a major development designed to provide athletic facilities, tournament opportunities, and community recreation.
The project includes ONT Field, a new minor league baseball stadium intended to bring professional baseball and additional entertainment opportunities to Ontario.
Paul supports these investments as part of a broader effort to expand recreational opportunities, attract visitors, and support local economic activity.
Expanding Entertainment and Community Destinations
Toyota Arena has become an established destination for sports, concerts, and entertainment in the Inland Empire.
Plans for the surrounding Arena District envision additional dining, entertainment, public spaces, and pedestrian-friendly amenities that would complement the existing venue.
Paul supports the continued development of this area as an opportunity to expand entertainment choices, encourage investment, and create places where residents and visitors can gather.
Renewing Historic Downtown Ontario
As Ontario grows, Paul believes preserving and improving the city's historic downtown is equally important.
Downtown Ontario and Euclid Avenue are central to the community's history and identity.
The city continues to support storefront improvements, local businesses, public spaces, and projects intended to make downtown more welcoming and accessible.
Paul's priorities include encouraging new investment while maintaining the historic character and neighborhood businesses that make downtown Ontario distinctive.
Honoring the Legacy of Jay Littleton Ball Park
Jay Littleton Ball Park holds a special place in Ontario's history. For generations, the historic ballfield brought families, athletes, and neighbors together.
The devastating fire in August 2024 was a significant loss for the community.
Paul recognizes the importance of the site and its place in Ontario's baseball heritage. He supports continued consideration of ways to honor that history and preserve the site's significance for future generations.
Growth That Benefits Our Neighborhoods
For Paul, Ontario's future is about more than new buildings and major developments. It is also about maintaining the services, infrastructure, parks, and public spaces that residents depend on every day.
As the city grows, Paul believes planning must account for public safety, transportation, water infrastructure, recreation, and the long-term needs of Ontario families.
His approach emphasizes balancing economic development with neighborhood improvements and responsible planning.
Moving Ontario Forward
Paul Leon remains focused on an Ontario that offers opportunities for businesses, recreational and cultural experiences for families, and strong public services for residents.
From the airport and sports facilities to downtown revitalization and neighborhood infrastructure, his priorities reflect a commitment to managing growth while respecting Ontario's history and community character.
Paul's vision is an Ontario that continues to grow and create opportunities while remaining a community residents are proud to call home.
