Opening a small business takes hard work, determination, and financial resources. Paul supports programs that make it easier for entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into successful businesses.
Ontario's Downtown Retail Pop-Up Program gives selected entrepreneurs an opportunity to test their business concepts in city-owned commercial spaces for as little as $1 per month, with utilities and Wi-Fi included during the short-term rental period.
The program helps reduce initial operating costs and gives participating businesses an opportunity to establish themselves in Ontario's historic downtown.

Supporting Local Restaurants and Businesses

Independent restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and other neighborhood businesses play an important role in Ontario's economy and community life.
Ontario offers business assistance programs designed to encourage new restaurants and other businesses to establish themselves downtown. These programs can help eligible businesses with equipment, improvements, and other qualifying expenses.
Paul supports creating an environment where local entrepreneurs have opportunities to grow alongside Ontario's larger commercial and entertainment destinations.

Revitalizing Historic Downtown Ontario

Ontario's historic downtown is an important part of the city's identity, and its continued revitalization remains a priority.
The city's Downtown Storefront Façade Improvement Program offers matching grants of up to $25,000 to eligible property and business owners for qualifying improvements.
These investments help improve storefronts, encourage private investment, and preserve the character of downtown Ontario while creating a more inviting environment for shoppers, residents, and visitors.

Small business owners need access to information, guidance, and professional support as they navigate the challenges of starting and operating a business.
