SETTING THE NATIONAL STANDARD FOR SAFETY
When you call, Ontario answers. Faster, smarter, and stronger.

Paul Leon's Commitment to Public Safety
Protecting Our Neighborhoods. Supporting First Responders. Planning for Ontario's Future.
For Mayor Paul Leon, public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of city government. As Ontario continues to grow, Paul believes the city must continue investing in the people, facilities, and technology needed to serve residents, families, and businesses.
Throughout his time as mayor, Paul has supported investments in Ontario's police and fire services, including modern facilities, emergency response resources, and new public safety technologies.
Modernizing Public Safety
Ontario continues to adopt technology designed to help first responders work more effectively.
The Ontario Police Department's Real Time Information Center gives officers access to information that can improve their awareness of developing situations and support emergency response.
The city's Drone as First Responder program adds another important capability, providing aerial views of emergency scenes to help responding personnel assess conditions and make informed decisions.
Paul supports these innovations as part of a broader commitment to equipping public safety personnel with modern tools and resources.
Supporting Our Police Officers and Firefighters
Technology is only one part of effective public safety. Ontario also depends on the dedicated police officers, firefighters, dispatchers, and emergency personnel who serve the community every day.
Paul's public safety priorities include maintaining staffing, investing in training and equipment, improving facilities, and planning for the needs of Ontario's growing neighborhoods.
As new homes, businesses, and community facilities are developed, Paul believes public safety resources must remain an essential part of the city's long-term planning.
Responsible Investment in Essential Services
Paul has supported a financial approach that allows Ontario to invest in essential services while planning for future needs.
One example is Measure Q, the locally controlled sales tax approved by Ontario voters in 2022. Its revenue provides additional resources for public safety, infrastructure, parks, and other city priorities.
For Paul, the goal is to use available resources responsibly, maintain essential services, and make investments that benefit Ontario residents.
Building Safe, Strong Neighborhoods
Paul believes public safety goes beyond responding to emergencies. It also means maintaining neighborhoods, investing in infrastructure, providing recreational opportunities, and addressing community needs.
His priorities include supporting safe parks and public spaces, maintaining reliable infrastructure, addressing homelessness, and ensuring that city services keep pace with Ontario's growth.
Looking Ahead
As Ontario continues to develop, Paul remains focused on the challenges and opportunities that come with a growing city.
His public safety priorities include supporting first responders, improving emergency preparedness, expanding the effective use of technology, and ensuring that new development is accompanied by appropriate public services.
Paul Leon's commitment is to an Ontario where residents feel safe in their neighborhoods, first responders have the resources they need, and families can enjoy a strong, thriving community.
